What is Tithes and Offering?
Tithes is that first 10% of your income, not your leftovers but your first fruits. It’s the part you give back to God as a sign of trust and obedience. It’s like saying, “God, you gave me the whole pie, I'mma hand you the first slice before I even sniff the crust.”
Offering is the above and beyond giving. It’s required if you want to reap the benefits. It's from your overflow. In other wards, You’re not just grateful, you’re GENEROUS too.
So that’s the difference. Tithes are obedience. Offerings are overflow.
Giving is worship, it’s trust in motion.
You may say “I don’t know how this bill gonna get paid, but I know who holds the blessing.”
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a CHEERFUL giver.”
So if it ain’t cheerful and it feels like pressure or performance, then it
’s NOT Kingdom. That’s culture.
God stretched five loaves of bread and two fish.
I personally tithed when it made no sense and got jobs, checks, food and favor I didn’t see coming.
Don’t give to impress or manipulate God. For the love of your budget, don’t give what you don’t have, give what you trust him to multiply.
If it’s 10%, give it with Joy.
If it’s a dollar and a testimony, hand it over like it’s gold.
Obedience and Faith is the Right combo
Not performance or Shame. It’s faith that gives even when it’s scary.
If you feel you’re not there yet, why not pray and ask him to show you how to become a joyful giver again or for the first time.
I enjoyed reading this post! You brought up some very valid points!
Putting God first, not last on the list - that changes everything 💙🙏
